Dental business coach asks, ‘Are you a resultaholic?’

Kick in the butt – what gets measured gets done, says dental business coach Andy McDougall from Spot On Business Planning[/caption]To become results driven you need to become a resultaholic, says dental business consultant Andy McDougall from Spot On Business Planning. It’s outcome that matters not output.According to Andy, results aren’t everything, they are the only thing. No matter what we align that type of thinking to we can constantly achieve better results.

The key is to think decisively, take action and improve your results

Have you identified your KRAs (key result areas)? Do you know where to give your focus? To achieve extraordinary results you need to change the way you see your dental business and change the way you think. If you keep thinking about your dental business the same way you will keep asking the same old questions. You need to change your mind-set and start asking killer questions.Eventually, unless you change your approach you will reach the point where the old solutions won’t work any more. Maybe you are already there, maybe you have got derailed and feel you are seriously in the hole. Sound familiar? What gets measured gets done. Performance management needs performance measurement. Measuring the right things (KRAs) is the key, then measuring them accurately and consistently is vital. Next, learn how to interpret the results and where necessary, to take corrective action. All KRAs need to follow the same performance management system: KITA (kick in the butt). Set the standard, measure performance, give feedback and take corrective action if necessary.Remember the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little word ‘extra’. Learn to ask the right questions and achieve that breakthrough level of performance. Don’t follow the 90%.
